Peggy's Cove

At Peggy’s Cove, Webnet enhances the beauty and functionality of a treasured coastal landscape. The project’s guiding aim was simple — to respect the natural environment and enhance people’s experience of the site.

By minimizing visual barriers and ensuring safety, Webnet helps create an accessible and inviting space that fosters meaningful connections between visitors and the iconic national landmark.

Design

The design team selected Architek’s product for its open netting, which allows wind to flow freely and provides clear views of the surrounding landscape. This design helps preserve important sightlines while considering the area’s natural conditions and forces over time.

Installation

The installation replaces a vehicle turnaround and features a new structure that extends over rocky terrain, giving visitors a closer view of the ocean and the lighthouse. It is designed to be accessible for wheelchair users and individuals with mobility challenges, ensuring that everyone can enjoy this popular tourist destination.

Maintenance

Made from marine-grade AISI 316 stainless steel, the netting is well-suited for long-term use in saltwater environments. This design preserves key sightlines while accounting for the area’s natural conditions and forces over time.

Architek Sustainable Building Products Inc BBB Business Review
Our Vancouver offices are located on the unceded and ancestral territory of the hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ and Swx̱wú7mesh speaking peoples, the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Swx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations, and has been stewarded by them since time immemorial.

Vancouver is located on territory that was never ceded, or given up to the Crown by the Musqueam, Squamish, or Tsleil-Waututh peoples. The term unceded acknowledges the dispossession of the land and the inherent rights that Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh hold to the territory. The term serves as a reminder that Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh have never left their territories and will always retain their jurisdiction and relationships with the territory.
